3. 8 hours daily sleep - 130 days GONE.

4. 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means 15 days.

School Category: All team members must be at least 15 years old and from the same educational institution.

The Challenge is open to all Singapore residents and permanent residents. International students with a valid student pass are eligible to participate in the School category. Participation in the Challenge is free-of-charge.

Participants of each team must comply with the below stated conditions:

Participants are to be at least 15 years old at 31 August 2008;
Participants who are under 21 years old must seek and obtain parental consent;
Participants are to declare and warrant that they are physically and mentally fit; and

Finally, the day was due to come to come. The anticipation, the expectation, and hard work had paid off. The waiting has come to an end.

The Common Tests are, at long last, OVER!

I know the CTs are very stressful and depressing. I can just hear it in the tags! At least it is over, for now.

Now, this is the best time to take a good breather and relax. Have a good short break! Have some fun! (and maybe 'mock' the others stuck in 'deary' laboratories.)

Wishing all for our best for our Chinese 'A'-Level Orals on the 9th June, and of course Albert for his Malay, and Shashank for his *EDIT:* Hindi (I forgot if Mainak is taking... whoops... anyway, all the best!).

Basically, our final promotion is split into 3 categories:
VA (10%)
CT (20%)
Promos (70%)

VA - Pray that your teacher is nice XD and so roughly, u will get around 8/10
Hence, VA = 8%

CT - Fail miserable 10/100 (Dun fail all though, need see principal)
Hence, CT = 2%

Thats 10%/30%

Promos - PASS

Thats 35%/70%

OVERALL 45%/100%

ITS AN "E" grade, so u get promoted XD

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---God, your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favourite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else - the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

The June break is here! YAY! I know Common Test is right after the holiday. But i'm sure this is a really good time to relax and enjoy ourselves. Cos i'm sure most of us know what to do with our studies/academics... Well, at the same time, we can study together if there are enough people who wish to do so...

Saw the title? Well, I was erm, blog surfing, not slacking, but blog surfing, and came across many class blogs and apparently, ours, I am proud to say, is one of the livliest! Ya, but sadly, it is also the most bullshyt one (other than our beloved NJPDA s23 senior class of course!) So, as the blogmaster, I have officially, or seriously, decided that we shall post serious stuffs so as to show our seriousness towards serious learning in this serious environment when we should be serious about everything that is serious, and ya, OUR FUTURE IS SERIOUS. Ok, so the serious campaign shall start NOW. So the first step on being serious is to have a serious reminder (not gentle anymore) of handing up your GP VA on Friday, 23rd May. This is applicable to all students except those from 1gp1A7. Seriously, we have to be serious about this. Ya. That's all.

So the class decided to meet at Ang Mo Kio, which to Alvin is a damn ridiculous location. Rarrr. A total of 7 people went, including Hwa Chong boy, Lin Yi, and Mok's little cousin, Kai Bin.

The most epic song was Tuo Diao by Alex To! We even shot a video of it! A pity the file is 156 MB and so we can't upload onto YouTube. For those who want the video, bring a thumbdrive and come find Alvin=] Also, the last song was Peng You and it was also shot. Once again, it's 124 MB... Freaking large.

After K-Box, Old Ginger and Yik Yie rushed home (to do GP VA. I THINK). The rest went to a food court to settle our dinner. We had fun playing with Shuling's lovely cap too =] After that was home sweet home =]

Hint hint from chem class...

1. Resonance hybrids are always more stable than any of the canonical structures would be, if they (canonical structures) existed.
2. The delocalisation of the electrons lowers the orbital energies, imparting this stability.
3. The gain in stability of the resonance hybrid over the most stable of the (non-existent) canonical structures is called the resonance energy.

One Night 4 College Students Were Playing Till Late Night and Didn't Study For The Test Which Was Scheduled For The Next Day. (sound like anyone?)

In the morning they thought of a plan. They made themselves look as dirty and weird with grease and dirt. They then went up to the teacher and said that they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their return the tyre of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way back and that they were in no condition to appear for the test.

So the teacher said they can have the re-test after 3 days. They thanked him and said they will be ready by that time. On the third day they appeared before the teacher. The teacher said that as this was a Special Condition Test, All four were required to sit in separate classrooms for the test. They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days.

The Test consisted of 2 fill-in the blank questions with the total of 100 Marks.

Found this deep deep inside the directories of my hard disk. Here goes.

A husband and wife are traveling by car from Key West to Boston.
After almost twenty-four hours on the road, they're too tired to continue and they decide to stop for a rest. They stop at a nice hotel and take a room, but they only plan to sleep for four hours and then get back on the road.

When they check out four hours later, the desk Clerk; hands them a bill for $350.00.

The man explodes and demands to know why the charge is so high. He tells the clerk although it's a nice hotel; the rooms certainly aren't worth $350.00.

When the clerk tells him $350.00 is the standard rate, the man insists on speaking to the Manager.

The Manager appears, listens to the man, and then explains that the hotel has an Olympic-sized pool and a huge conference center that were available for the husband and wife to use.

"But we didn't use them," the man complains.

"Well, they are here, and you could have," explains the Manager. He goes on to explain they could have taken in one of the shows for which the hotel is famous. "The best entertainers from New York , Hollywood , and Las Vegas perform here," the Manager says.

"But we didn't go to any of those shows," complains the man again.

"Well, we have them, and you could have," the Manager replies.

No matter what amenity the Manager mentions, the man replies, "But we didn't use it!"

The Manager is unmoved, and eventually the man gives up and agrees to pay. He writes a check and gives it to the Manager. The Manager is surprised when he looks at the check. "But sir," he says,

"That's correct," says the man. "I charged you $300.00 for sleeping with my wife."

"But I didn't!" exclaims the Manager.

Haha I just realized I haven't posted here in ages!
Anyway today we had TRACK AND FIELD MEET!!!
woohoo!

SOLARIS came in 1st for cheering session AND the house cup AND the IP cup!

yay total solaris ownage!

anyway did everyone see our dear Lao Da run? poor guy, running so hard for solaris, fell down at the end! oh my but solaris teachers ended up THIRD. yay! ms chua ran too!

and yay for all those who ran for solaris and S19! Dai Yong and Zhongli! Haha. I hope I didn't leave anyone out (:

and thanks EVERYONE for cheering soooooooooooo loudly during cheering session. it's you guys' effort that made solaris FIRST! woohoo!

special mention goes out to YOU JIE, who has huge stores of energy and was able to run around the field carrying the solaris flag. and not just once, but so many times. oh my goodness, sprinting one round just killed me.

Dear 08S19,

Just wanna thank all of you for making the Food Fair a success! I can see all of you enjoyed yourselves, regardless of what role you actually played in the process. For those who are not with us, I am sure your contribution did make a difference too! The cooperation you all have shown during the sales as well as the cleaning up have prove that we certainly live up to expectation of our class motto : "United we stand..."

Last but not least, I will also want to thank my 10 traffic wardens who bear the extreme heat with me in urshering the vehicles. Truly appreciate your help!

Anyway, the table is half an A4 paper big (smaller than Lao Jiang's hand?) and it has to be taken from the side which has shut. Anyway, the long hole can be used to throw rubbish, hide lecture notes for lecture tests and many more... Wahahaha, but no more h/p use since it can't be hide really well. And ya, pray that u can adapt to a small table IF this LT is use for lecture (Dno abt whether it will be used anot)

Hey S19, important stuff to take note. (I'm keeping it short and sweet, with matters pertaining to our class only.)

So you know our duties:
-Drinks (ice blended, syrup, bottled)
-Clean-up

The price of each item we're selling we'll tell you guys on saturday, cause I don't wanna reveal too much. What if other houses see and slash their prices, haha. Just kidding. Friendly competition.

Because of teachers limiting us, we only get to use ONE ice blender, so You Jie, can you get it PLEASE? My dad rather I not bring one. Don't ask me why.

On FRIDAY, 2nd May, everyone will be released at 2pm.

Our stall has to be ready for business by 5pm on Saturday 3rd May.

Attire for food fair: half grey and solaris house t-shirt (the formal one)

Cashier system: ONE main cashier manned by 06IP03. When customers buy food, direct them to cashier and encourage them to buy our other items!

Receipts: Collect and paste on A4 size paper.
(edit) Very very very important. Make sure receipts are in good condition. Otherwise no refund.

Tell Yu Rui how much we spent by FRIDAY 2nd may.

Yup, its another random post here... Hmmm... How's the CIP yesterday? Wrote ur reflections? Again, I nvr go, wahahahahaha!!! Actually hor, not on purpose de, but play with the pros damn fun, so when end then realise time, and most probably every saturday have (know wad it means? =P) Anywayz, WE ARE LOSING OUR CIP WEEKLY PHOTOS. Ohya, no CIP next saturday, cos of college day... Oops, a small update on the college day then:

Sry ar, but that's all I know, the rest of the things Lao Jiang keep changing here and there, so unable to give a definite update... Have a nice weekend? TMR is half day and Thursday is labour day!!! So there's events (choose 1) which I would like to organise for everyone:
